Escape room w Dreźnie? Dlaczego nie! Trzeba tylko znaleźć taki, gdzie można grać po angielsku. Właśnie taki jest Huntington przygotowany przez Experience Dresden. Znajduje się od kawałek drogi od ścisłego centrum miasta, więc zaparkowanie samochodu nie powinno być problemem. My akurat przeszliśmy pieszo 🙂

Zabawę zaczynamy od wprowadzenia. Jesteśmy zagranicznymi turystami, którzy szukają pewnej restauracji w okolicach Osaki. Przyjazny mnich wskazał nam skrót przez las, z którego, rzecz jasna, skorzystaliśmy… To tylko punkt wyjścia, a co dzieje się dalej to już zupełnie inna sprawa. Nie należy szukać tu spójności i konsekwencji, fabuła pokoju co chwilę odkrywa przed nami  kolejną nową warstwę, a kończy się… w miejscu, którego nikt nie spodziewałby się na początku.

Zadania są bardzo różnorodne, trzeba wykazać się zręcznością i spostrzegawczością, przyda się też znajomość matematyki (w podstawowym zakresie) oraz proste umiejętności łamania kodów. Niektóre rzeczy są głęboko ukryte, a inne na widoku.

Nietypowym elementem tego escape roomy jest to, że w dużej mierze polega on na komunikacji i interakcji, zwłaszcza głosowej. Jest to element niezbędny do ukończenia zabawy. Trzeba też zdecydować się, komu można zaufać, a wybór ten będzie miał daleko idące konsekwencje…

Pokój ten polecam raczej grupom z doświadczeniem, niezbędnym elementem jest też dobra znajomość języka angielskiego (lub niemieckiego, rzecz jasna).

You just need to find one that can be played in English. Huntington by Experience Dresden is exactly that. It's located a bit outside the city center, so parking shouldn't be a problem. We actually walked there. 🙂 The fun begins with a short introduction. We're foreign tourists looking for a certain restaurant near Osaka. A friendly monk points us to a shortcut through the forest, which, of course, we take... That’s just the starting point — what happens next is a completely different story. Don't expect a consistent narrative; the room’s plot keeps revealing new layers and ends in a place no one would have expected at the beginning. The puzzles are highly varied. You’ll need dexterity and a good eye for detail. Basic math skills and simple code-breaking abilities also come in handy. Some clues are deeply hidden, while others are in plain sight. A unique feature of this escape room is that it relies heavily on communication and interaction — especially voice-based. This is essential to complete the game. You’ll also have to decide who you can trust, and this choice will have far-reaching consequences... I’d recommend this room to more experienced groups. A good command of English (or German, of course) is absolutely essential.

DE Escape Room in Dresden? Warum nicht! Man muss nur einen finden, den man auf Englisch spielen kann. Genau so einer ist Huntington von Experience Dresden. Er liegt etwas außerhalb des Stadtzentrums, daher sollte das Parken kein Problem sein. Wir sind allerdings zu Fuß dorthin gegangen. 🙂 Das Abenteuer beginnt mit einer kurzen Einführung: Wir sind ausländische Touristen, die ein bestimmtes Restaurant in der Nähe von Osaka suchen. Ein freundlicher Mönch zeigt uns eine Abkürzung durch den Wald, die wir natürlich nehmen… Das ist nur der Ausgangspunkt — was danach passiert, ist eine ganz andere Geschichte. Man sollte hier keine durchgehende Logik erwarten; die Handlung des Raumes entfaltet ständig neue Ebenen und endet an einem Ort, den man am Anfang nie vermuten würde. Die Aufgaben sind sehr abwechslungsreich. Geschicklichkeit und gute Beobachtungsgabe sind gefragt. Auch grundlegende Mathematikkenntnisse und einfache Fähigkeiten im Codeknacken sind nützlich. Einige Hinweise sind gut versteckt, andere liegen offen zutage. Ein ungewöhnliches Element dieses Escape Rooms ist der starke Fokus auf Kommunikation und Interaktion – vor allem per Sprache. Dieser Aspekt ist entscheidend, um das Spiel erfolgreich abzuschließen. Außerdem muss man entscheiden, wem man vertrauen kann – und diese Entscheidung hat weitreichende Konsequenzen... Diesen Raum empfehle ich eher erfahrenen Gruppen. Gute Englischkenntnisse (oder natürlich Deutsch) sind absolut notwendig.
